Get Free Gutter Cleaning Quotes
Fill in one short form and up to four gutter specialists covering your postcode can send you a price. Tell us what you need — a routine clean, an overflowing gutter cleared, guards fitted, a blocked downpipe or a repair — and the request goes to independent local firms that take on that type of job.
Cleaning Gutters is free, and you are not committed to anything by asking. Each company names its own price and makes its own arrangements with you, so check their insurance and what the price covers before you say yes.
How to Get Your Prices
- Complete the form. Postcode, contact details and a line or two about the gutters and what they are doing.
- We find local firms. As many as four gutter companies near you may be sent the request.
- Companies contact you. They may ask for photos, the number of storeys or details of anything below the gutters.
- Pick one, or none. Compare what each price includes before booking.

- fitting gutter guards, brushes or mesh after a clean;
- unblocking downpipes, hoppers and swan necks;
- re-fixing sagging gutters and replacing broken brackets;
- sealing leaking joints, corners and stop ends; and
- cleaning conservatory, garage, porch and extension gutters.
Typical UK Gutter Costs
The figures below are rough guide prices for everyday domestic gutter jobs. They are not quotations — your own price will depend on the height of the property, the length of guttering, material, condition, how badly it is blocked, local labour rates and how easy it is to reach every side of the house. Tall or complex properties can cost more than these typical ranges.
| Gutter job | Typical cost | Biggest price factors |
|---|---|---|
| Gutter cleaning | £50–£180 | Number of storeys, length of gutter, house type |
| Blocked gutter clearing | £60–£200 | Urgency, how compacted the blockage is, access |
| Gutter repairs | £90–£400 | Number of brackets or lengths replaced, material |
| Gutter guard installation | £300–£1,200 | Guard type, metres of gutter, height |
| Downpipe cleaning and repairs | £75–£350 | Where the blockage sits, rodding or jetting, new sections |
| Gutter joint and seal repairs | £60–£220 | Number of joints, uPVC or cast iron, access |
| Leaf guard fitted to an existing gutter | £20–£30 per metre | Length, guard material and access; a whole-house job is covered by the range above |
| Gutter realignment | £15–£30 per metre | Bracket condition, fall and access; a full repair visit may cost more |
Published gutter cost guides give similar ballpark figures for cleaning and fittings and guards. Many companies will clean the gutters and fix a leaking joint or loose bracket in the same visit for less than two separate call-outs, so mention everything you have noticed when you enquire.
Details That Help a Company Quote Accurately
- the type of property — bungalow, two-storey semi, detached, three-storey townhouse or flats;
- whether there is side access to the back of the house, and whether gates can be left unlocked;
- anything directly below the gutters: a conservatory, lean-to, flat-roof extension or bay window;
- whether trees overhang the roof, and what kind;
- where water is overflowing or dripping, and whether the downpipes run freely;
- the gutter material if you know it — uPVC, cast iron, aluminium or asbestos cement on older properties; and
- when the gutters were last cleaned.
Comparing Gutter Quotes
Lay the replies side by side and check that they cover the same gutters. A quote for the front and back of a semi-detached house may not include the gutter on a rear extension, a garage or a porch. Ask whether each downpipe is flushed through as part of the job — a gutter vacuum clears the channel, but a blockage further down the pipe can leave you with the same overflow at the next downpour.
Find out how the debris will be handled. Some companies bag it and take it away; others leave the bags for your garden waste collection. If a company finds damage while cleaning, ask that they show you photos and price the repair before doing anything extra.
Before You Book
- ask for proof of public liability insurance;
- confirm how the gutters will be accessed and whether that affects the price;
- check whether before-and-after photos are provided;
- ask what happens if an outlet blocks again within a few weeks; and
- agree whether payment is due on completion or once you have seen the photos.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I pay anything to request gutter quotes?
No. Sending a request is free and you are not obliged to book. The gutter companies that receive requests pay for the service.
How many gutter companies will get in touch?
As many as four, depending on how many firms cover your postcode and offer the work you need. Remote areas and very small jobs may get fewer replies.
Will a company need to visit before quoting?
Not usually for cleaning. Many companies can price from the number of storeys, a couple of photos or a street view. Repairs and gutter guards are more often priced after a quick look.
Can I get quotes for both cleaning and repairs?
Yes. Mention everything you have noticed in your enquiry, such as a leaking corner or a loose bracket, and companies can price the clean and repair together.
